Scottish Brooches, decorative pieces of jewellery used to attach garments together. For the rich the Scottish Brooches was more a status symbol. They were made of gold or silver and adorned with jewels. The lower-class had to make do with Pewter, Copper, or some other metals. As fashions in the brooch changed rather quickly, they make a great indicator of time. Some of the earliest known brooches are from the bronze age.
Scottish Brooch is probably more traditional than the Celtic and depicts all that’s good in Scotland. The Luckenbooth used at traditional weddings is just but one of them. The Brooch is more popular and in many traditional designs. The most populaur is probably the Scottish Thistle. We have a selection of well made Brooches on sale and all made in Scotland.
